What's a Miller Girl?

My sister Jackie and I were blessed to spend the majority of our youth in a neighborhood of Gary, Indiana called Miller Beach. It was in Miller that we met the world's greatest group of friends and went on countless adventures. We're all still going on adventures together now if you count weddings and babies. I'm not sure who said it first, but it wasn't until my sister Jackie taught my daughter to yell "MILLER GIRLS" with her fingers twisted into an M on her forehead like we have some weird gang, that it really stuck with me. She told my daughter that "Miller girls don't play!" and that we're tough and we don't let anybody mess with us. She was right. So, that's what a Miller Girl is. It reminds me of some of the best times in my life, the best people I've ever known and it reminds me of my sister Jackie, a true Miller Girl.
